I was about 20 when the XJ40 first came out, replacing the XJ6 series 3 and after the curves and 20 years of that shape jaguar saloon, the XJ40 looked so square and boring to my eyes, In fact I hated it, however now after all these years, the XJ40 seems to have matured into a very handsome car as such values are now on the up.

1990 Arctic Blue XJ40/XJ6 4.0 Sovereign Auto. New MOT, 75k from new, a beautiful car that drives just as a Classic Jaguar should. The bodywork is in lovely condition, the Arctic blue paintwork really is in lovely condition, with a deep lustre that compliments the excellent full leather interior, a new headlining has been recently fitted.

On the road this XJ40 drives like new, the engine has plenty of performance in either normal or sports mode and cossets its occupants, there is no sign of smoke, rattles or knocks, the lattice alloy wheels have replaced the period metric wheels and are shod with excellent tires, the bumper chromes show no corrosion whatsoever, so this really is a handsome carriage.
